Winter Wonderland
February View from The Royal Turret
Winter is bright and beautiful in Prospect Village. This view from The Royal Turret room is of Our Lady of Mount Carmel church and church/community hall. Prospect Village has been a Catholic centre since 1794. Prospect Village Bed and Breakfast was once a convent for the Sisters of Charity who are and were highly educated women who taught the children here for about 50 years. The church hall was the school. The granite boulder in front of the hall is known as "Conch Rock" because before the church had church bells, folks were called to mass by a hearty blow of a West Indian Conch Shell. How maritime is that!
